Philosophy

Spinoza speaks out in favour of democracy and points out the great importance of fundamental tolerance and freedom of expression.

Spinoza wrote the Ethics as a geometric system, using definitions and propositions. With this book, he wanted to give people something that would help them pursue a permanent form of happiness.

Everything that exists – including man himself – is an mode of being of God. For Spinoza, God and nature are two names for the same reality. You cannot attribute human characteristics to God, as is customary in the Jewish and Christian traditions.
