Renovation

In the coming years, Domus Spinoza will undergo an extensive renovation to make the house accessible to a wider audience. This is more than just a restoration — it’s an investment in the future of The Hague as an international city of peace, justice, and thought. In 2027, we will commemorate the 350th anniversary of Spinoza’s death in The Hague, at Paviljoensgracht 72, the very place where he completed his masterpiece Ethica.

Spinoza as an answer to today’s challenges
Domus Spinoza is being transformed into a vibrant House of Reason and Reflection — a place where debate, dialogue, and depth come together. In an age where connection, trustworthy information, and open conversation are more vital than ever, Domus Spinoza offers an inspiring space for critical thinking and meaningful encounters. Spinoza’s message of tolerance, rationality, and understanding remains as relevant today as it was in the 17th century. Here, we aim to foster social cohesion, respect for diversity, and the cultivation of independent thought.

An international asset for The Hague
Through this transformation, Domus Spinoza will grow into an international center of expertise — a place where law and reflection reinforce one another. It will attract thinkers, students, and visitors from around the world, hosting international symposia, public programs, and educational activities for schools.
