Spinoza

For several years, the famous Dutch philosopher Benedictus de Spinoza (1632 – 1677) lived in this simple house in Rijnsburg. Since 1899, it has been a museum, where Spinoza’s radical ideas about freedom, tolerance and democracy are honoured and are still a source of inspiration for many today. The Spinoza House Museum is a meeting place for anyone who wants to know more about Spinoza, as well as for those who want to be challenged to think about personal questions and/or social dilemmas. In the Museum, children can playfully get to know about philosophy. Visit the Spinoza House Museum and get to know Spinoza yourself!
